Amazing Facts About Menstruation
  • Girls can get pregnant whilst on their period – shocked, aren’t you? Well guys, the odds of a woman getting pregnant depends on here ovulation cycle rather than the periods themselves
  • Girls will spend nearly 10 years of life on their period – from the time of her first cycle to menopause, the average woman will have around 450 periods in lifetime. That’s a lot of periods!!
  • Menstruation is normal! It is the monthly shedding of blood and uterine tissue and an important part of the reproductive cycle. Typically, it lasts 2-7 days.
  • On average women dispose off between 11000 and 16000 pads or tampons in her lifespan. They end up in the landfill or blocking the drainage, reusable materials are zero waste
  • Your periods get worse when it is cold – cold weather can impact your period making it heavier and longer than normal
  • Your brain can be affected by your period – research suggests that cognitive functions and attention span may be affected because of period pain – that explains those episodes of brain fog and lack of concentration then – phew!
  • Buying reusable pads may feel like an expensive purchase but remember, that’s all you’ll ever need to spend on sanitary products for three years, it saves you money!
  • The amount of blood is usually between 6 and 8 teaspoons each month
